From 27 September 2026 every shop selling goods to consumers in the EU must display the harmonised legal-guarantee notice, show the EU GARAN label for products with a producer's durability guarantee, give repair and spare-parts information, and stop using environmental claims it cannot prove. What changes on 27 September 2026
Directive (EU) 2024/825 ("Empowering consumers for the green transition") amends the Consumer Rights Directive and the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive. It applies to every trader selling goods to consumers in the EU, whatever the size or country, with fines of up to 4 % of turnover.
Legal-guarantee notice
Sellers must display the Commission's harmonised notice about the two-year legal guarantee in a prominent way, online and in the order confirmation (Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960, Annex I).
EU GARAN label
When a producer offers a free durability guarantee of more than two years for the whole product, the seller must show the official GARAN label for that product (Annex II), also on the checkout.
Repair information
Repairability score where one applies, availability and cost of spare parts, repair instructions, repair restrictions and the software-update period, before the consumer buys.
No unproven green claims
Generic claims such as "eco-friendly", "green" or "sustainable" are banned unless the product has recognised excellent environmental performance. Neutrality claims may not rest on offsetting. Self-made sustainability labels are out.
How it works
Activate
The notice is live at once: a sentence such as "Your legal guarantee rights" on product pages, the checkout and the footer opens the official notice on click or roll-over, in the language of your shop, WPML or Polylang. Customer order e-mails get the reminder with the official PDF attached.
Fill in what applies
Enter years, producer and model for products with a producer guarantee; ClaimProof renders the GARAN label with only those three fields filled in, in the prescribed Inter typeface. Set repair information per product or per category.
Scan and decide
One scan checks titles and descriptions in 15 languages for restricted wording. Remove the claim, or record why it is allowed. Every decision is logged and hash-chained, so you can show later what you did and when.

Frequently asked questions
Does this make my shop legally compliant?
ClaimProof puts the required information in place and documents your decisions, but it is a tool, not legal advice. Whether a claim is substantiated is your assessment, and member states can add rules (longer guarantee periods, national repairability indexes). Check the guidance of your national consumer authority.
Do I need the GARAN label for every product?
No. Only for products where the producer offers a commercial guarantee of durability that is free, covers the whole product and lasts more than two years. Products without such a guarantee need no label. Never invent a guarantee: the label is a legal statement.
Can I change the colours or the wording of the notice?
No, and neither can we. The Implementing Regulation fixes the design. ClaimProof only chooses the language of the notice and fills the three editable fields of the label (years, producer, model) in the prescribed typeface.
Which languages does the scanner understand?
English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Czech, Romanian, Hungarian and Greek. A filter lets you add your own terms.
Which WooCommerce and WordPress versions are supported?
WordPress 6.6 or newer, WooCommerce 9.0 or newer, PHP 8.1 or newer. Block themes and classic themes, classic and block checkout, variable products. Single-site installations.
Does it slow down my shop?
No. The nested label is a small inline graphic; the full label is loaded only when a visitor opens it. The scanner runs in the background when you start it or save a product.
What happens when my Pro subscription ends?
The installed plugin keeps working. You stop receiving updates and support until you renew. The free plugin is unaffected.
Where is my data stored?
In your own WordPress database. The plugins make no external requests. Pro contacts the license server only to validate your license and check for updates.
